Thursday evening yarn-in…bring your work(s) in progress and enjoy the camaraderie of working with other “yarners.” There is no charge, and the atmosphere is very informal.
Anytime…come in and knit/crochet with me…help is available all day long.
Beginning Knitting:
Learn the basics of knitting including how to knit, purl, cast on and bind off. You will become familiar with yarns, needles and other necessities. And you will have fun! This class is also a great refresher course.
Skills Required: No experience needed.

Beginning Crochet:
Learn the basics of crochet to make baby blankets, scarves, purses, granny squares, and so much more!

Expand your skills beyond basic knitting. You will make a small project which will “show off” your newly acquired talent!

Fixing Mistakes:
My stitches fell off my needle! I have too many stitches! What row am I on? No matter what your experience level, everyone makes mistakes, or has questions about their work. This is an excellent class covering basic mistakes, and how to correct them instead of panicking!
Skills Required: Cast on, knit, purl, bind off
Skills Learned: Stitch orientation, tinking, picking up a dropped stitch, unraveling, fixing too many/too few stitches

Learn to Knit Socks on 2 Circular Needles:
You will learn the basics of sock knitting using 2 circular needles (or double pointed needles if desired). If you are already knitting socks on double pointed needles, you will get to learn the 2-circular-needles method. Many people find this a quicker method of knitting socks.
Skills Required: Cast on, Knit, Purl, Knitting in the round
Skills Learned: Knitting with 2 circular needles or with double point needles. Sock elements including short rows. Kitchener stitch.

Create a delicate lacy silk/cashmere scarf featuring several beautiful patterns. This class is an excellent opportunity to learn various lace patterns, and increase your confidence in working with fine yarns.
Skills Required: This class is for an intermediate knitter who has experience with knitting, purling, yarn over increases, k2tog and SSK decreases.
Skills Learned: Review of pattern reading, 5 sampler patterns, working with fine yarns, Kitchener stitch, blocking

Christmas Sampler Pillow to Crochet:
Learn new skills while contructing a beautiful Christmas Pillow for yourself or to use as a gift. During each of the four sessions you will use a different technique. You will create blocks in the first 3 sessions, and complete the project in the fourth session.
Skills Required: single crochet for the first 2 of 4 sessions. Single and double crochet for sessions 3 and 4.
Skills Learned: Bobbin work. 3-dimensional flowers, stitching blocks together, and finishing.
Length: 4 sessions, 2 hours each.

Knitting for Christmas:
Christmas is around the corner! Knit this lovely felted holiday purse with a detachable knitted and felted poinsettia. It is a simple project, but for those of you who want a little bit of a challenge and maybe to learn something new, we can give you that too. It involves the techniques of adding an I-cord around the top of the purse for a great look, and creating a beauriful multi-leaf poinsettia.
Skills Required: Cast on, knit, purl, bind off.
Skills Learned: I-cord, felting.
Length: 2 sessions, 2 hours each.

Knitting Backwards:
When working on a few stitches back and forth in stockinette, you get tired of turning your work so often. An answer to this is to knit backwards instead of purling to avoid having to turn the piece.
Skills required: Cast on, knit, purl, bind off.
Skills learned: Knitting backwards.
Length: 2 hours.
Cost: $20 plus materials.
Entrelac:
The French word 'entrelac' means interlaced, and the final product looks like woven basketry. We will use the entrelac method and, working in the round, interlace red, green and white yarns. Working with wool, the resulting stocking can be felted.
Skills Required: Cast on, knit, purl, bind off.
Skills Learned: Entrelac.
Length: 3 sessions, 2 hours each.

Fair Isle is a traditional knitting technique used to create patterns with multiple colors. No more than two colors are used in each row. Fair Isle is also known as "stranded" knitting. You will knit a beautiful hat - it can be a Christmas present as well!
Skills Required: Cast on, knit, purl, bind off, knitting in the round.
Skills learned: Fair Isle knitting, reading a Fair Isle chart.

Learn cables as you create an impressive sampler scarf. It's easy to do, you can add all kinds of interesting and imaginative textures to your knitting.
